If it’s too good to be true, then it PROBABLY IS!
In the world of crypto mining, being one of the first people to own a new ASIC miner has it’s advantages. The more miners that are sold, the tougher it gets to profit from them… I was excited to see a new company in the space boasting some ridiculous numbers that were definitely too good to be true but I decided to take a risk and hopefully be lucky enough to be one of the first miners using this particular machine! I purchased an ASIC miner from Seek Hash and then (way too late) decided to reach out to them via email. I didn’t get any responses from them using the provided email address, which may have kept me from buying had I done that first! Oh well, live and learn!
I got SCAMMED by SeekHash.com so you don’t have to!
I do a lot of youtube videos and I like to try things and take risks so that i can report to the youtube community and hopefully make the mistakes so other’s don’t have to. I also had this in the back of my mind and it sometimes pushes me into purchases that are sketchy knowing that worst case scenario, I can at least make content around the incident and warn other people about it… So let this serve as a warning to all… if you buy an ASIC miner from seekhash.com, you will NOT get your miner and will also be scammed out of your hard earned money!
SeekHash.com – Scam Site Review
The site itself was done well enough to pass as legit, which I guess is the point. It had all the bells and whistles that you would find on any other e-commerce shopping site and the payment gateway was Coinbase Commerce, which is a trusted company. The unfortunate thing about using crypto for online purchases is that there is no way to demand a refund or a chargeback like you can with a credit card or paypal purchase. Once crypto is sent, it’s pretty much gone!
$5000 is a LOT to lose but at least it taught me a valuable lesson and may hopefully help other people from getting scammed by this company and the many others like it!
